Being fit is not only a goal that you set for yourself, it is, indeed, an art. Just like with any other type of art, not everyone can produce it, and this is why there are many men who simply cannot make this happen. But why is that so? Being fit isn’t a talent you are born with, so why can’t everyone be fit? Well, the truth lies in devotion.
In order to become fit and to be a sporty person, you will have to follow a certain set of rules, know specific things about your body and the exercises and things that make it healthier, and most importantly, staying true to the cause, as cheat days and cheat meals will not make this happen.
So, let’s take a look together at all the things that a guy has to do in order to become fit. Dudes, make this your year!
It really does matter what you eat
Even though it is actually a well-known fact that a proper diet can make you fitter, there are people who do not really believe that you should be very strict with the things that you’re eating.
However, if you really want to change your diet, it is never a good idea to do it all of a sudden, but rather start with baby steps, especially if you find this very hard.
The very first thing you need to do, however, is not to cut carbs, but to cut out anything sweet, such as fizzy drinks, snacks and chocolate. Once you get used to that, try to cut carbs and incorporate a much more protein-based diet.
However, the moment you perfect the proper diet that you supposed to be practicing, it will be time to introduce something else to the game.
Speaking of supplements
So, supplements are one of the things that many people use for staying fit, regardless of the actual state of their fitness.
Whether this is an OK thing to do is open to interpretation, as some professionals think that it would be better to lose all the fat before you start with supplements while there are others that trust in the immediate use of supplements.
But one thing they do agree on – you will have to use only high-quality supplements. This being said, no matter how fit or unfit you are, speak to a professional on the types of intra workout supplements they would recommend to you and start from there. After all, they do know best, and the right supplements can really help you out if you take them in a proper manner.
Always stay active
We will not start this segment with the cliché sentence that you have to work out in a gym in order to stay fit. Instead, we will try to make you stay active at all times. What does this mean? If you work somewhere within walking distance from your home, try to go on foot to work instead of using your car or public transport. This will, first of all, save you a lot of money on gas, but most importantly, it will do your muscles a lot of favors. If your office (or your apartment) is on the sixth floor, let’s say, use the stairs instead of using the elevator. These are all the things that we tend not to do because we are, as a people, quite lazy, especially if we have an alternative, but it is these small things that slow the metabolism down.
As a final piece of advice, do not underestimate the power of sleep. Sleep is of the utmost importance for the growth and fitness of your muscles, as it uses your body’s power while you’re sleeping to form them and give them all the nutrients that they need.
Proper sleep also optimizes the hormones such as insulin, growth hormone and even testosterone which is detrimental for both your muscles and your fitness. It can also improve your immune system. This being said, make sure that you properly calculate just how much you will sleep each day, but make sure that you do not sleep less than 7 hours a night and no more than 9 as it can also backfire. 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night is the best option.
Nobody said that staying fit is an easy task. However, since this is not a must for all the guys out there, it is perfectly normal that it should take a lot of determination and hard work for this to be achieved.
This is why not everyone can be fit, as not everyone has what it takes, and yes, if you think about it, staying fit is not just a state of mind and body, it is, indeed, art.
